Torgah Picks Nigeria PGA Tour Card

Ghanaian professional Golfer, Vincent Torgah has joined the growing list of African professionals wishing to ply their trade on the lucrative Nigeria Golf Tour.
The Ghanaian who came in joint second position at the TPC in March and ninth ahead of Ghanaian colleague at CMCL open in June is the third Ghanaian to pick the Nigeria Tour membership card.

The list includes top seed, Emos Korblah and Otukpo club based Jayjay Arvey. Ever since the PGA Nigeria Tour's debut in 2007 the Nigerian golf circuit has become Africa’s second largest tour destination after South Africa. Yearly, players from Congo DR, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Kenya, Togo and neighboring Benin Republic, come to Nigeria to participate in two of the nation’s biggest competitions, the CMCL Open and the Tour Partners' Championship.

The 2009 edition of the TPC which held at the golf section of the Ikoyi Club in March had Kenya’s Dismas Ndiza winning the coveted trophy.
Apart from the TPC and CMCL allure, the Nigerian tour has always attracted golfers from other countries. Players like Sierra-Leone’s  Kargbo Bureh was one of the golfers who made waves in 2001-2003. His sojourn to Nigeria was as a result of the civil war that wrecked the country in the late 1990’s.

Bureh however died later after his return to Freetown
